Inspiration: David Koma interpreted the ethnographic photography of 19th century lens-man Edward Curtis, adding a sense of rootsy folklore to the Space Age sensibility that informs his surface decoration. It materialised in striped fringing on little jackets and dresses, in numerous takes on feathers, and the elaborate beadwork intrinsic to Koma’s signature. Sufficiently fresh and optimistic.
The Look: The hair was blow dried straight, for a silky smooth finish. The parting was then centered and swept behind the ears to create a tough, yet elegant and sophisticated look. To hold the parting in place gel was applied.
